Self-Esteem – What Has It Got To Do With Weight Loss?

SHARE & COMMENT

Of all the judgements we make in the daily grind of life, none are as important as the ones we make about ourselves. When we feel good about ourselves we make better eating and exercise choices so the condition or state of our own personal self-esteem has a direct bearing on our ability to get and remain in good physical shape.

The difference between having low or high levels of self-esteem is the difference between apathy, inaction and failure, and taking action and achieving success in life whether it be career, relationships, or health.

What a high level of self-esteem can mean to your life

Living with high self-esteem you are passionate and excited about what each new day will bring. You love life and that is reflected in your work, your thoughts, your relationships, your creatively, your productivity and most especially the condition of your physical body. This however does not mean you don’t have challenges in your life, but your high self-esteem gives you the core confidence that no matter whatever comes your way, you can handle it.

You can handle life’s challenges and set-backs and when you feel down you have confidence that it is only temporary – after all it is only a feeling. It does not cause you to use it as an excuse to burden your body by not giving it proper regular exercise, or overeating too much of the wrong types of foods.

Low self-esteem can derail your weight loss attempts

If you have become overweight (for whatever reason) when your self-esteem level is high you know you can reverse it and get the weight off. But when your level is low you will find you continue to self-sabotage yourself as you do not truly value yourself enough to do what you know you need to do to achieve and live in a fit, healthy, sexy body. Your deep rooted self-belief system cannot even imagine it and you find it hard (or impossible) to believe the body of your dreams is attainable.

When you have high self-esteem you are kind and nice to yourself, so while you take inspired, healthy action in the way of healthy eating and proper exercise to get the weight off you keep your goals realistic because you expect to meet them. You love to feel good and it feels good to you to see your strong, fit, healthy, body coming into view in front of your eyes when you look in the mirror.

When your self-esteem is low you tend to set unrealistic weight loss goals which cause you to not feel good as you are engaged in a constant struggle with yourself. You would not put yourself in a no-win situation (battle) with yourself when you have high self-esteem.

If what you have been doing to lose weight is not working when you have high self-esteem you are not intimidated by the fact that you do not know it all. You are open-minded and ready to seek out those who specialize in getting the weight loss results you deserve to have for yourself. A person with low self-esteem is intimidated easily and feels they should know it all and should be able to do it all on their own.

If you are that person with the high self-esteem that will not allow your ego to get in the way and instead focus on the outcome you desire: a strong, fit, healthy, feel-good, sexy body, and are willing to get some help to achieve it then go back to the home page of this website and read about “The Weightl Loss Motivation Bible”. But only if you feel you believe that you do deserve to have what you want – and you will not settle for less than that.
