Lacking Motivation To Lose Weight?

SHARE & COMMENT

Many people suffer from a lack of motivation and enthusiasm for things in their life – relationships, work and never more than in the area of weight loss and fitness. The problem is though that this often brings indifference, frustration, dissatisfaction and unhappiness.  Not the best way to live your life you will agree.

If you are someone who has become overweight, and you have been unsuccessful in sticking to a healthy eating plan or a proper exercise program (the things that will get you back into shape) your levels of motivation are below par and could do with some bolstering and strengthening so you can get the job done.

Does your motivation fizzle out?

Sometimes, people show short bursts of motivation or enthusiasm. They start doing something like a new diet or exercise program enthusiastically, but lose interest and motivation after a while, because they find it impossible to sustain them.

When we look at what motivation is we see it as a desire and interest, a driving force that pushes us to take action and pursue those things and goals that are important to us. A lack of motivation denotes absence or deficiency in desire, enthusiasm, interest and that vital driving force that propels one forward in life.

People sometimes think they can simply tell themselves to DO IT like eat less and exercise more but this rarely works. If it did you would NOT be overweight as you would already be doing the things that a slim, fit person does. You can only be overweight and out of shape if your mind-set and your lifestyle allow you to be

There is a great deal of difference between a motivated person and one who lacks it. People lacking in motivation are usually passive, often come up with a myriad of excuses why they shouldn’t or can’t do this or that and often blame everyone and everything for their circumstances

A motivated person on the other hand, is energetic and positive, takes action to improve his or her life, and does not give up when there are problems and challenges. This is important as a lack of motivation can mean the difference between living in a slim, fit, strong, healthy, feel-good body or an overweight, unhappy, feel-bad one.

Give your motivation a prod

If losing weight is one of your goals you need to awaken your motivation and get your ‘inner’ mind programming matched up with what you want on the ‘outer’ – that slim body. You will need to ask yourself some serious questions about what you REALLY want for your life, identify the obstacles or road blocks and ‘fix’ them.

Before you look to start a new diet or exercise program do some work on that inner mind programming and boost your motivation levels so that your mind is working FOR YOU and not against you as it may well be right now. Once you do this you will find losing weight so much easier and effortless as you will automatically start doing the things that will lead to that slim, trim body.

It will not seem like a chore, sacrifice or commitment. It will just seem natural and easy and this is the place where people who are in good physical shape are – their mind software supports them in their goals.
